1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using the MediMate mobile application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the App.
These Terms form a legally binding agreement between you and the MediMate developer regarding your use of the App.
2. Description of the Service
MediMate is an iOS application designed to help you manage your medications and health appointments. The App may include:
- Medication tracking with customizable schedules and reminders
- Dose adherence monitoring and history
- Medical appointment management with reminders
- Apple Health (HealthKit) medication record import
- Apple Watch companion app for daily schedule
- Data export (JSON backup) and PDF adherence reports
3. Medical Disclaimer
IMPORTANT: MediMate is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. The App is a personal organizational tool for medication reminders and tracking. Always consult your physician, pharmacist, or other qualified healthcare provider before making any changes to your medication regimen. Do not disregard professional medical advice or delay seeking it because of information in this App.
You are solely responsible for verifying medication names, dosages, schedules, and any health-related decisions. MediMate reminders are convenience tools and should not be relied upon as the sole means of medication management.
4. Subscriptions and Payments
MediMate offers a free tier with limited functionality (1 medication, 1 appointment). Premium features are available via auto-renewable subscriptions:
- Monthly subscription: Billed monthly through your Apple ID.
- Yearly subscription: Billed annually through your Apple ID.
Subscriptions are managed by Apple. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel subscriptions in iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
5. License
Subject to these Terms, you are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to:
- Download, install, and use the App on your iOS devices
- Use the App for your personal health management (excluding resale or distribution of the App)
6. Restrictions
You may not:
- Copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the App
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
- Remove or alter proprietary notices
- Attempt unauthorized access to the App or related systems
- Use the App to provide medical advice or services to others
7. Data and Backups
App data is stored locally on your device. There is no cloud sync. If you uninstall the App, on-device data may be permanently removed. You are responsible for creating backups using the in-app export feature. For privacy details, see the Privacy Policy.
8. HealthKit
If you grant permission, MediMate accesses Apple HealthKit to read medication records. HealthKit data is processed on-device only, never transmitted externally, and never used for advertising. You can revoke access at any time in iOS Settings.
9. User Responsibilities
You agree to:
- Use the App in compliance with applicable laws and regulations
- Be responsible for the accuracy of medication and health information you enter
- Not rely solely on the App for critical medication management
- Maintain the security of your device
- Keep your own backup of important health data
10. Safety
Safety notice: If you experience a medical emergency, call your local emergency number immediately. Do not use MediMate as a substitute for emergency medical services. MediMate reminders are not guaranteed to be delivered in all circumstances (e.g., device powered off, Do Not Disturb mode, low battery).
11. Privacy
Your privacy matters — especially for health data. The Privacy Policy is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
12. Disclaimers
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that:
- The App will be uninterrupted or error-free
- Reminders will be delivered in all circumstances
- HealthKit data import will be complete or accurate
- The App will perform identically on all devices/iOS versions
13. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenues, or health outcomes arising from your use of or inability to use the App.
14. Updates and Modifications
We may update the App and these Terms from time to time. We may notify you of material changes via the App Store or other appropriate means.
15. Termination
We may suspend or terminate access where necessary, including for violations of these Terms. You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. Active subscriptions should be cancelled through iOS Settings before uninstalling.
16. App Store Terms
Your use of the App is also subject to Apple App Store terms. In the event of a conflict, App Store terms may control with respect to your use via the App Store.
17. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by applicable law, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
