FAQ

What is MediMate?

MediMate is a medication tracking app that helps you manage your medications, set reminders for doses, track adherence over time, and manage medical appointments — all from your iPhone and Apple Watch.

What can I do with the free version?

The free tier lets you track 1 medication and 1 appointment. To unlock unlimited medications and appointments, you can subscribe to MediMate Premium (monthly or yearly).

Does it work with Apple Health?

Yes. MediMate can import your medication records from Apple Health (clinical health records). This is available in supported regions (US, UK, AU, and more). Your HealthKit data stays on your device.

Does it have an Apple Watch app?

Yes. The companion Watch app shows your daily medication schedule and syncs with your iPhone via WatchConnectivity.

Where is my data stored?

All your medication, dose, and appointment data is stored locally on your device. MediMate does not use cloud sync. If you uninstall the app, local data may be removed. You can export/import your data as a JSON backup from Settings.

How do reminders work?

MediMate uses local notifications to remind you when it's time to take your medication. A follow-up reminder is sent 10 minutes after the scheduled time if you haven't responded. Appointment reminders can be configured to notify you days in advance.

Troubleshooting

  • Not receiving reminders? Check iOS Settings → Notifications → MediMate and ensure notifications are enabled. Also check that Do Not Disturb / Focus mode isn't blocking them.
  • HealthKit import not working? Make sure you've granted MediMate access to Health data in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → MediMate. Clinical records are only available in supported regions.
  • Watch app not syncing? Ensure both devices are paired and the Watch app is installed. Try opening MediMate on both devices to trigger a sync.
  • Subscription not recognized? Go to Settings → Manage Subscription → Restore Purchases. If it persists, check your Apple ID subscription status in iOS Settings.
  • Missing data / unexpected behavior? Restart the app. You can also export your data from Settings as a backup. If it persists, email us with steps to reproduce, screenshots, and your device/iOS version.

Privacy

MediMate is built with a local-first approach. Your health and medication data stays on your device. No third-party ad or tracking SDKs are used. HealthKit data is accessed only with your explicit permission and never leaves your device.
